Welcome to the New Life in Slow Motion Website!

I have been a bit absent this past week because Life in Slow Motion has been getting updated. It was all stress and craziness for awhile, so it feels great to be on the other side!

And now that all of this website madness is behind me, I’m excited to start writing again. Finally!

So, what’s on the agenda?

  • I’m almost done with my manuscript rough draft for The Book. Hurray! It really needs a name because I am never sure what to call it when I mention it. It shall henceforth be known as The Book until I come up with a better solution 🙂 I hope to finish the first rough draft in the next month and update you on the writing process at that time.
  • I have plans in the works for a small ebook called Explain your Pain. I am still mapping it out, but I am hoping to write a practical handbook on helpful and effective ways of communicating your chronic pain to friends, family, and loved ones.
  • And for the blog… Stay tuned for a new series on chronic pain and mental health. I hope to bring together my professional experience as a counselor and my personal experience as someone with chronic pain to help you better understand how chronic pain and mental health intersect. More on this soon!

  1. Website looks great! I am interested to learn more about your e-book too as I created some handouts on Communication and Chronic Pain for the pain group I facilitated. I used the knowledge I had from my counsellor days helping family members supporting other family members with an addiction.
    Way to go on the book too!

      Yeah, I am at the beginning stages of mapping it out. I figured if I publicly proclaimed I am doing it, I will have to follow through 🙂

      Your resources sound great! I am sure some of my counseling knowledge will come into play as I keep working on my project as well. Did you lead an online pain group or in person?

    • Thank you! I have you to thank for teaching me how to make posters 🙂 I didn’t know how until I read your tutorial, and now I’m going to try to keep up with it for future posts. Great to hear from you – I hope that means some small improvements are in the works! <3

        I spread myself way too thin when I started feeling a bit better this past year. I wasn’t ready for such a huge set back this past winter and recently took a big step back from many of my online responsibilities so I have more energy to be myself, less stress, more time for work on my body, etc.
        If I can finish it, I’ll write something about it soon. I’m so excited for all you’ve been doing the past few months! I think we are in sort of the opposite groove, lol. To every season, you know? I hope that means you are feeling well physically again?? <3

          • Yes, I came out of my last flare so much faster than expected. The new pacing system I am using has been so extremely helpful to keep me on track since then. Can’t even believe how much of a difference it is making. Thanks for asking <3
